MODULE 03
Budget & Priorities
Budget & Priorities
In this module we’ll walk you through setting your budget, understanding costs and protecting yourself against hidden costs.
We’ll also be sharing our top tips for avoiding unnecessary expenses - because having a beautiful wedding doesn’t have to break the bank!
First Things First — Setting Up Your Spreadsheet
This is your gentle reminder to set up your wedding spreadsheet, if you haven’t already.
This is super important, as it is the one place you will be able to keep all of your budgeting, priorities and guest information.
So go on, scroll down, download the spreadsheet, and make it your own.
Be sure to enter all of your details, estimated costs, and confirmed figures so you have a clear overview from the very beginning.
This will help keep everything organised and stress-free as you move forward with your wedding plans.
P.S. No one will be able to see your spreadsheet apart from the people you give access to.
Online Wedding Essentials
It can be incredibly helpful for couples to set up a separate email address for wedding admin. Use this email for all enquiries, quotes, RSVPs, and supplier communication.
This keeps everything neat and prevents important messages from getting lost in your everyday inbox, which, let’s be honest, is probably overflowing already.
For example:
TheJonesWedding2029@gmail.com
Choose something simple, memorable, and easy to share with guests and suppliers.
If you have managed to create a brand-new wedding email, then I am sure you can figure out how to create a wedding website.
A wedding website is a wonderful way to keep your guests informed, organised, and excited about your special day. It’s ideal if you have an understanding of tech and if you’re planning a destination wedding with lots of information to give to your guests.
Simply put, a wedding website brings all of the important details into one easy-access point, and it can be as simple or as fancy as you like.
Consider including the following pages on your site:
Welcome Page / Your Love Story
Wedding Day Details
Travel and Directions
Accommodation
RSVP Form
Gift List (perfect if you are not sure how to ask for the things you really want!)
Open A Wedding Savings Account
Okay, no one likes talking about money, so we will keep this short.
Keeping your wedding finances in one dedicated place is one of the simplest ways to stay organised and reduce stress.
Setting up a separate savings account, or even a practical money box, specifically for your wedding is a wonderful way to take control of your budget early.
It helps you stay clear on what has been saved and what has been spent, and avoids confusing wedding costs with everyday bills.
Here is why setting up a separate account is a no-brainer:
You and your partner can both contribute whenever you get paid, making it fair and simple.
All wedding-related payments come from one account, making budgeting and tracking much easier.
It helps prevent overspending.
You can instantly see how much you have saved and how much you have spent. it also separates wedding funds from everyday life. It makes paying suppliers much simpler.
