Vendors & Style

MODULE 07

Welcome to Vendors & Style

Your wedding is only as organised as the people you pay and hire, so selecting the right vendors and suppliers is key.

In this module, we’ll guide you through everything you need to know including types of suppliers, how to find them and what to look for in contracts before signing (Please always read the fine print even if its 10 pages long!)

We’ll also answer those common questions including: Do we need to feed our suppliers? What’s the difference between a wedding planner and a wedding coordinator? And do we actually need one?

Let’s make sure you are confident with your choices, protected, and surrounded by the best in the wedding industry.

Do we need to feed our wedding suppliers?

There are many wedding suppliers involved in your wedding day, and it can be surprisingly hard to know which ones you should be feeding.

In most cases, your supplier’s contract will state whether food and drink are required as part of their service, so this should always be your first point of reference.

If they do request food make sure they don’t have any food preferences and that they are clear of any allergies.

As a general rule, I would always recommend providing a hot meal for your wedding planner or coordinator, your photographer and second shooter, your videographer and in the evening, your DJ or band. these are the suppliers, who are with you for a considerable amount of time and working continuously throughout your day.

For the rest of your suppliers, they won’t require food however after the wedding, a handwritten thank you card or genuine 5* review goes a very long way and is always hugely appreciated.

Your Styling Vision

Your wedding vision starts with the little ideas that excite you — the colours you love, the atmosphere you imagine, and the moments you want to create.

A vision board brings all of these together in one place, helping you see your day clearly and confidently.

A vision board is a collection of images, colours, textures, quotes, words and ideas that inspire you. Creating one allows you to see your wedding style in one place, making conversations with suppliers, planners, and your partner so much easier and more enjoyable.

How to Start Creating Your Wedding Vision Board:

  • First, start with how you want your day to feel:
Romantic, modern, elegant, rustic, bold, timeless and choose 3–5 words that describe your ideal atmosphere and decor.

  • Gather Inspiration from Everywhere
Pinterest, Instagram, interior design websites, fashion, nature, your venue or your love story. Save anything that sparks joy or feels like “you.”

  • Choose a Colour Palette You Love
Pick a base colour, a complementary accent, and a few supporting shades. This helps guide florals, décor, stationery, and outfits.

Once you have started to create ideas for your vision board, sit with your partner and pick out the pieces you really love and the ones you are drawn to most.

  • Then cut them out and place them on your vision board.

  • Once the words, quotes, pictures and materials are in place, stick them down with glue.

  • Ta-dah! You have finished your wedding vision board!

Top Tip…

You can do this by confirming they have an online presence, either a professional website or active social media pages.

Top Tip…

Consider seating your photographer and other suppliers away from guests tables for the food. After hours of social interaction, most suppliers appreciate a little quiet time to eat, catch up on missed calls and emails and reset before capturing the rest of your day.
