MODULE 02
Wedding Vision
Welcome to Your Wedding Vision
Your wedding day is a reflection of your love story.
In this module we will guide you through the exciting steps of bringing your dream wedding day to life…
Type of Venue
As you and your partner start looking for venues, take some time to consider and ask the following questions:
Does the venue have a licensed ceremony area?
What is exactly included in the hire price?
Which items are fixed-price and which are subject to change or increase (e.g: drinks packages or bar prices)
• What happens if we need to change our wedding date?
What is your cancellation policy?
Who will run our wedding on the day?
What styling ideas are not permitted?
• Do they offer on-site accommodation?
If so, what is the cost, and do you need to book all rooms?
• Are there plenty of photo opportunities?
• Does the venue allow an external bar?
• What time can suppliers access the venue on the day?
• What time does the evening finish, and are late-night extensions available?
• Are there any noise restrictions?
• Does the venue have recommended or preferred suppliers, and are you required to use them?
Are fireworks allowed?
Type of Ceremony
As you begin shaping your wedding vision, it’s important to consider the type of ceremony you’d like - whether religious, non-religious or something bespoke to your own ideas.
To help you both gain clarity and choose a ceremony style that feels right, consider asking the following questions:
How important is it for the legal marriage to take place on the day of your wedding celebration?
How important is it to include elements of our faith and spiritual beliefs in the ceremony?
Are there any specific traditions or rituals essential to us and our families?
Do we want to introduce any new traditions for our future family?
Would we prefer a ceremony to be led by a registrar, religious leader, celebrant, relative or friend?
Do you want the freedom to create a bespoke ceremony, write your own vows and formalise your own structure?
Is the venue licensed for a legal ceremony?
Is there an option to have the ceremony indoors, outdoors, or choose on the day?
Who will be present in or around the ceremony space at the same time?
Who will be responsible for playing the music during the ceremony?
Who will be conducting the wedding ceremony?
How much is the celebrant or registrar’s fee?
What meetings or appointments do we attend before the wedding, and when should they be scheduled?
Are we allowed to use confetti, and does it need to be biodegradable?
Time of the Year
Consider the following factors when choosing your wedding date:
What season feels most “you” as a couple — spring blooms, summer sunshine, autumn colours, or a cosy winter vibe?
Are there any meaningful dates you’d love to incorporate (anniversaries, parents’ wedding date, birthdays, special memories)?
Are there any dates you should avoid?
What is the typical weather like during that time of year?
Will it be easy for your guests to travel at that time of the year?
Would you be upset if it was forecast to rain or snow?
Are your must-have guests likely to be available during that season (school holidays, travel times, busy work periods)?
Do you prefer a weekday, weekend or bank holiday wedding?
Will your preferred suppliers be available?
How much time do you need to save enough money?
Will marrying in peak season affect the pricing of the venue or suppliers?
What time will the sun set at that time of year and will that affect the type of photography you want?
Will the season affect how comfortable your guests are?
Are seasonal flowers or décor important to you, and will they be available during that time of year?
Will you need to consider seasonal extras such as heating, airconditioning, umbrellas or blankets.
Top Tip…
Personalise your bar menu by renaming the cocktails after yourselves, your pets, or meaningful moments in your relationship.
